LANBridge 900 Wireless Industrial Ethernet Radio Allows Connectivity to PLC from SCADA Host 27 Miles Away

The LANBridge 900 Wireless Ethernet Radio Modem system was used for a SCADA communications system between a SCADA host located in the field office and the ethernet enabled PLC located 27 miles away at a field production facility.  A LB900 was set up as a store and forward REPEATER at an existing 300' radio tower allowing communications from the LANBridge at the office to the LANBridge at the salt water disposal facility.

With the LANBridge's high receive sensitivity and 1 watt power output allowed the use of low cost omnidirectional antenna at the tower site and directional YAGI antennas at the office and PLC sites.  This combined with the LANBridge's high noise immunity allowed cost effective yet robust industrial ethernet connectivity.

Ethernet connectivity to the field located PLC via the WAN connectivity at the field office allows PLC programming and maintenance from the company's head office location.
