Upgrading
To upgrade your version of Locator to the most recent you must use the following steps. Read through these before going ahead. If you need to read help topics after uninstalling Locator they are available online at www.scadalink.com/locator.

1. Make a backup copy of your Locator database using Windows Explorer. See the 'Database Copy' section in the Locations topic for details.
2. Export your user data using Tools > License > Export, Tools > Locations > Export and Tools > Preferences > Export from the Locator main menu.
3. Uninstall Locator using Start Menu > All Programs > SCADALink Locator > Uninstall from Windows. See the Uninstalling topic for details.
4. Download the most recent version of Locator from the Locator website and install it. See the Installing topic for details.
5. Import your user data using Tools > License > Import, Tools > Locations > Import, and Tools > Preferences > Import from the Locator main menu.

Your new Locator will have all locations, preferences, and the license that you previously used. Check Help > About to verify you have installed the new Locator version and that the license is the type you had previously. Use the Find tab to verify all locations have been imported. Use Tools > Preferences > Edit to verify your preferences are set.
