Overview

BGAN 9502 Satellite Modem: Cost-Effective and Low-Power

Overview:

The BGAN 9502 satellite terminal provides reliable connectivity for highly-remote SCADA applications. The terminal delivers affordable, global, end-to-end IP data connectivity enabling applications in industry sectors such as environmental monitoring, SmartGrid, pipeline monitoring, compressor monitoring, well site automation, video surveillance, and out-of-band management to primary site communications.

Low-Power Operation:

The exceptional low-power consumption (< 1W idle) of the 9502 makes it possible to provide end-to-end IP connectivity to sites that are off the grid. The low-power consumption provides end-to-end IP connectivity to power-challenged locations that rely upon solarbattery arrays involving sensitive power budgets. The BGAN 9502 is ideal for remote solar-powered sites.

Compared to high-speed satellite communications, the BGAN 9502 is a compact-sized device that works in solar-powered sites.

Always-On IP Connection:

BGAN 9502’s always-on IP allows connection to PLC, RTU, and data logger networks, providing full-access and maintenance functionality such as programming, polling, FTP, and web interface.

Ethernet Connectivity:

The BGAN 9502 has an Ethernet port that provides connectivity with any remote TCP/IP SCADA device. Remote sites that require serial connectivity can be equiped with the SCADALink IP100 Terminal Server to provide a bridge between the RS232 / RS485 serial interface to the BGAN 9502’s Ethernet port.
